Great movie!

It’s always a pleasure to see So Ji Sub on the screen, but with this movie, he takes on a much different role than what I’ve seen of him so far. His portrayal of an assassin is unique, but what is most memorable is how the audience sees him transform from a deadly assassin with no conscience, to a man with feelings, and the desire for a normal life.

Movie synopsis~

Hyeong Do (So Ji Sub) is an assassin for a company that masquerades as a metal trading company. One day, he takes on a job partnering with a man Hyun Yi, who he is to kill afterwards. Hyun Yi asks a favor to Hyeong Do which is to give money to his family. Hyeong Do visits Hyun Yi’s home where he meets Hyun Yi’s mother Su Yeon (Lee Mi Yeon). Su Yeon is a former singer whom Hyeong Do admired in the past. Guilt, an unknown feeling up to this point for Hyeong Do, begins take him over. Hyeong Do quickly becomes their target when the company realizes that something is awry, as Hyeong Do submits his resignation.

Final thoughts~

Although this movie contains much violence, the acting is impeccable, and the story is solid. The writers did an amazing job at making the audience care for the characters, and I can definitely say that I smiled, cried, and remained at the edge of my seat for the majority of the movie. I should also mention that I was equally impressed with Kim Dong Joon’s acting, especially since this was his first big screen movie! Overall, the action and fight scenes in this movie are highly entertaining, and although not a movie for everyone, I highly recommend it for action movie buffs!

I give this movie 4/5.
